Fibre Reinforced Concrete
About this Product
Features and Benefits of Fibre Reinforced Concrete.
Concrete is known for its strength and hard-wearing properties, but when you need extra strength and reinforcement, high-performance, fibre reinforced concrete adds that extra integrity.
Fibre reinforced concrete is a cost-effective alternative to using steel mesh reinforcement in both domestic and commercial projects. Choosing a Fibre reinforced solution not only offers cost savings, but saves you time. Our fibres are strategically added to the batching process to ensure even distribution at the mixing process therefore the concrete delivered to site is ready to use for a quicker placement whilst eliminating the preparation and handling time of conventional steel mesh.
A fibre reinforced solution also has the potential to reduce your project’s CO2 emissions compared to using conventional steel mesh, which increases toughness and ductility of hardened concrete. It also improves post crack performance to allow the concrete to retain the load carrying capability after cracking has occurred.
Fibre Reinforced Concrete comes in 3 Typical Formats
Micro Fibres – To Help reduce the frequency of plastic shrinkage cracking which can occur in freshly placed concrete and is also resistant to impact damage.
Macro Fibres – Typically a plastic fibre which when added to concrete increases the flexural strength, improves both impact and abrasion resistance Suitable applications inc Internal floors, external hard standings, domestic house oversites as a direct replacement for conventional steel mesh and industrial floors.
Steel Fibres – Designed to provide the ultimate performance under intense loading conditions and provides superior resistance to concrete cracking whilst maximising the resistance to damage from heavy impact. Suitable for heavy industrial usage such as salvage yards, domestic house oversites as a direct replacement for conventional steel mesh, heavy industrial floors, concrete structures and hard standings.
Whether you are carrying out a domestic, industrial or commercial project, Hills concrete are here to provide a reinforced concrete solution to suit your specification.
