Harker Homes have recently been introduced to the positive impacts that self-compacting concretes can bring to their build project. The unique selling points of self-compacting concrete can be witnessed in the first few minutes of the delivery each plot would take one person approx. 20 mins to pour, dapple and spray, compared to 3 people taking 90 mins to complete with standard conventional concrete. Harker Homes soon took advantage of the labour savings along with the improved Health & Safety aspect of SCC and poured all 14 plots of the development. Self-compacting concrete enables the rapid and effortless construction of slabs and floors, it can be moved effortlessly and provides an exceptional, highly aesthetic finish.

“What we love about Hills concrete is the simplicity and support of everything from sales ordering to technical advice and even delivery support. This was the first time we had used self-compacting concrete so obviously we were a little cautious, but Hills Concrete were on hand to demonstrate and support how to place SCC. On one occasion we were short on staff due to Covid and Hills Concrete came to site and placed two plots for us without hesitation. We have another project due very soon and will certainly be using both Hills concrete and SCC again.”
